Torque equation of induction machine

Let ‘ s discuss the torque eqution of induction machine

When an induction motor is connected to 3- phase supply , a rotating field is produced which rotates the rotor. The Rotating force acting on rotor is called torque

The rotor  torque T  is directly proportional to:

(i)        rotor current (I2)

(ii)      rotor e.m.f. ( E2 )

(iii)   power factor of the rotor circuit (cos φ2 )

Thus, Mathematically,

                     T ∝ I2 E2 cos φ2

                     T = K I2 E2 cos φ2      ......where K is constant  

 we know that,

     Substituting these values in above equation

                      Hence,
